CHLOE ANDERSON
​
Originally from Elk Grove, CA, Chloe Anderson graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a BA in English and a minor in Professional Editing. She is currently working as a Publications Assistant at the Public Library of Science, and one day hopes to become a fiction editor (acquisitions/developmental). As the daughter of two professional violinists, the closest Chloe has gotten to playing an instrument is sports (so, not at all). Now located in San Francisco, she spends her free time playing tennis, finding new baking recipes to conquer, and maintaining her Animal Crossing Island.
NAJA PULLIAM COLLINS

Naja Pulliam Collins (she/her) is an Editorial Assistant at University of California Press and works with the Modern History editor and Environmental Studies editor. Her two favorite things about being an editorial assistant are collaborating with the different departments at the press and working with authors to finalize their books for production. When not working, Naja enjoys going for walks, baking, and reading contemporary fiction.
VIVIEN DINH

I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area to immigrant parents. After my studies at UC Davis, a volunteer trip in Vietnam inspired me to travel onward to teaching English in Spain and later completing my Master’s degree in Sydney, Australia. After returning home, I began my career in the nonprofit sector working in various departments, served as a board member of a local educational nonprofit, and learned that proofreading and editing docs was satisfying - leading to my journey in discovering the publishing industry. My passions include creative collaborations and helping to make the communities and spaces I live in a little better. I am thrilled to be a part of BAWIP’s mentorship program!
TERESA DIVIACCHI
​
Teresa Diviacchi is currently a Publications Assistant at the Public library of Science (PLOS). With a BA in World Literature from Pitzer College, an MS in Creative Writing from University of Edinburgh, and a MA in English Literature from San Francisco State University, she is fascinated by the art of storytelling. A lover of thought provoking literature and lyrical compositions, she is most drawn to stories by and about women whose voices have been historically silenced. Teresa jumps at the chance to explore a new neighborhood, city, or region of the world and enjoys spending her free time with loved ones.
ALEXANDRA GALOU
Alexandra Galou is a native San Josean and has been connected to the Bay Area literary scene since high school. In the last three years, she has worked alongside the Center for Literary Arts, Poetry Center San José, Recycle Bookstore, Reed Magazine, and McSweeney’s. Currently, she is the 2021-2022 Entertainment Editorial Fellow for Chronicle Books.
ELLA GILBERT
Ella Gilbert grew up in the East Bay, spending most of her childhood in Oakland bookstores and libraries. She received her B.A. in Media Studies from UC Berkeley in 2021, where she was an editor with Berkeley Fiction Review. After graduating, she joined the Collective Book Studio as Marketing Manager. Ella spends her free time reading, baking, and watching period dramas.
LEE LABOV

Lee is from Berkeley and graduated from Pitzer College in 2020 with a BA in Asian American Studies and Media Studies. She originally worked in the film industry with a focus on independent documentaries (two of which were released in 2021!) before discovering her passion for publishing. Recently, she obtained a certificate in copyediting from UC Berkeley. In her free time, she loves to crochet and embroider. Some recent projects include crochet sweater vests and ear warmers and embroidered tote bags!
REG LIM

Reg Lim (they/them) is a publishing assistant at Chronicle Prism and a contributing editor at Catapult. They are a Class of 2021 graduate of UC Berkeley and previously managed their premier literary journal, Berkeley Fiction Review. Through their work in publishing, their mission has been towards uplifting underrepresented voices and stories both on the page and behind the scenes.
TANDY TANG
​
Tandy Tang moved to the Bay Area after graduating with an MPS in Publishing from George Washington University. She worked as a rights and permissions researcher at Georgetown University Press and became passionate about rights business and translated literature during her graduate studies. Previously, Tandy worked as a bilingual journalist for an Asian newspaper in Philadelphia, where she loved exploring circumstances in the Asian community, especially about this group's politics, lives, and education. She enjoys the sunshine in the East Bay so she can do watercolor sketching and read outdoors.

LISA BACH

Lisa Bach is Executive Director, Global Retail Sales for Chronicle Books. With over 30 years of publishing experience, she spent the first 10 years of her career on the editorial side of publishing (acquisition, developmental, literary associate) before she moved over into sales at Chronicle Books. Not many move from editorial to sales, but she highly recommends it! For the last 20 years, Lisa has managed the Specialty Channel for Chronicle Books, where she leveraged her passion for publishing and matched it with her fascination of retail (especially independent retail). She now leads the entire sales team at Chronicle Books, and continues to be thrilled each season to sell unique gift books, puzzles, stationery and formats from Chronicle Books and our distribution partners (Galison, Mudpuppy, Laurence King, Princeton Architecture Press, Hardie Grant, Creative Co. Twirl, and Levine Querido). When not working, Lisa enjoys cooking/eating, travel, photography, being outdoors, birding, and spending time with family and friends.
KRISTEN FRANTZ

Kristen Frantz (she/her) is Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Berrett Koehler Publishers, where she has worked since 1992. She currently oversees the areas of sales to US trade bookstores, corporations, associations and authors, plus promotion through publicity and marketing. Kristen has worked in nonfiction publishing since 1989, previously working for McGraw-Hill in their textbook division, and Bull Publishing, a health, fitness, and nutrition book publisher. Kristen enjoys being the Communications Chair because it gives her an opportunity to hang out with smart, fun women, and help educate others about the industry. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, and striking yoga poses.
BECCA HUNT

Becca Hunt is the Editorial Director for Entertainment publishing at Chronicle Books, where she has worked since 2017. She began her publishing career as an intern at Arcade Publishing and Basic Books when she was attending NYU, then worked as an editor at Penguin Books, Harlequin, and Harper Design. A Bay Area native, she moved back in 2017 to work her dream job acquiring humor gift books at Chronicle. Her list there focuses on humor, pop culture, and memoir, and some of her favorite acquisitions include Dolly Parton: Songteller, Field Guide to Dumb Birds of North America, Men to Avoid in Art and Life, and Woody Guthrie: Songs and Art; Words and Wisdom. She lives in El Cerrito with her husband, son, and cat.
KATE MCKINLEY
Kate McKinley decided to become an editor at the age of 8, when she found out there was a job that would pay her to read. Since then she’s edited books, magazines, websites, government reports, and anything else someone will pay her to read. Currently a freelance editor, when not reading she spends her time motorcycling or volunteering with dog rescues, particularly for Great Pyrenees dogs.
KATIE PARR

Katie is a Bay Area Native who began her career in journalism before transitioning to book publishing. She has worked for traditional publishers and media start-ups in several different departments, including editorial, acquisitions, content operations, and subsidiary rights. Currently, Katie is the rights manager for New Harbinger Publications, an Oakland-based publisher of prescriptive nonfiction. In her free time, Katie enjoys reading (especially historical fiction!), taking and teaching HIIT classes, and hiking in the East Bay hills.
EDEN SUGAY

Eden Sugay (she/they) is a Publishing Sales Manager at VIZ Media. Eden has worked for Ingram Content Group (formerly Perseus Books Group) and Chronicle Books in sales, marketing, events, and client management. Eden is also Poetry Editor for Apricity Press, a multi-genre arts press that publishes one issue per year. She earned her BA in Creative Writing from Mills College in Oakland, CA. In addition to her role as BAWiP Vice President, Eden is an active member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and Communications Committee. When Eden isn't working, she likes to fill her time with dancing, baking, and jotting down half-formed thoughts for future poems on her phone.
VANESSA TA
​
Vanessa Ta (she/her/hers) is an Executive Editor at Callisto Media, a Bay Area-based publisher using data to create reader-driven books. She currently oversees projects focusing on personal growth and development. Prior to joining Callisto, Vanessa spent time at several Bay Area publishing houses, including North Atlantic Books and Red Wheel/Weiser, and in another life, earned an MFA in Poetry from Mills College.
JOHANNA VONDELING

Johanna Vondeling is President and Publisher at Berrett-Koehler Publishers. She previously served as Vice President for International Sales and Business Development and as Vice President for Editorial and Digital, after joining the company in 2004. Before that, she worked for Jossey-Bass (a Wiley imprint), W.W. Norton, and Holt, Rinehart, and Winston. She received her BA from Yale University and her PhD in literature from the University of Texas at Austin.
